As you may have seen from the Fox 61 broadcast on Friday, 3/27, our second Tweetup (held on 3/25) was an awesome time. Lots of energy and great conversation from new connections being made to impromptu workshops about using Tweetdeck.
Ready to join us in the fun next time? Add yourself to the group88 Meetup community and you will receive notices on the next event which will probably be mid-April. To connect with CT Tweetupers, follow us by typing in #group88Tweetup into your Tweets and go to the group88Tweetup page
.
group88 is located at 88 Hopmeadow Street (Route 10) in Simsbury, Conn. (yes, if it says "Weatogue" on your GPS, you've found the right place). For more info, contact Alina Duncan at info@group88.us or call 860.658.4888.
Hope you can join us!

Three things made 8x8+1: Bending Pixels a huge success:
1) talent
2) generosity
3) Suzi's mom's home made shredded beef with horse radish sauce (never underestimate the power of ole fashioned Yankee cooking!)
All in all we raised over $2,000! Not bad for a little event that received zero media coverage (despite tireless efforts). The support we
received in producing this event was overwhelming. During
this economic loopiness our little
photography event was thiiiiiiiis close to dying a quick death. Without
a sugar daddy sponsor, the arts community in the Hartford and
Farmington Valley areas stepped up, chipped in and helped out.
Here is a list of people we owe undying gratitude to:
Richard Hollant, 8x8+1 artist -- visit co:lab to order signed posters and portraits from the event!

Dennis Barnicle, 8x8+1 artist and now lighting mast er
Sonny Parlin, 8x8+1 artist and killer slide show producer
kHyal, 8x8+1 artist and therapist for Suzi
Juliano Barrotti, 8x8+1 artist and super star
Jim Coon, 8x8+1 artist and infinite supporter
Richard Murkland, 8x8+1 artist and technical supervisor
Jessica Rosario, 8x8+1 artist and young hip crowd connector
Derek Dudek, 8x8+1 artist and killer drummer (possibly showcased at next event)
Ben Dean, 8x8+1 killer musician
Monica Kawecki -- could not have done it without you Monica!
Jed Bell, student and volunteer server and unbelievably awesome guy!
Lauren Miller, Rie Poirier-Campbell, Karin Diamond and the rest of the crew at the Greater Hartford Arts Council
Steve Campo and Freddie McInerney, Theater Works
Jim Charbonnier, veteran framer of Candle Wood Framing of Tolland, and all-around cool guy
Suzi's mom and dad
Monica's mom (thanks for the tasty Polish treats!)
Kara Parlin, fancy dessert maker (well, now she is!)
Brent Robertson, Matthias Palme, Janet Bowler, Steve Yanicke and the crew of Fathom
M&R Liquors -- free booze makes any event!
Chive's of Avon
and, of course, all of our 80+ guests who joined us for a fabulous evening of art, friends and good times. Thank you everyone!
September 30, 2008. This a.m. co-founder Suzi Edwards had her TV debut on the local Fox news program. Suzi had a blast dishing about coworking and group88! Check it out . . .
